Fuel cells offer the potential of emission-free power generation for stationary and transportation applications. Individual cathode-electrolyte-anode cells assembled with bipolar plates form the stack which is the heart of the fuel cell. Clad metals, because they can combine outstanding corrosion, electrical and mechanical properties, are ideal for PEM fuel cell plates, electrolyzers and diffusers. They offer designers unique opportunities to optimize performance while reducing weight and the cost of manufacture.
